This year we've seen a 54% increase in energy bills nationwide. This has left a lot of households in hospitable conditions this winter as we fear turning on the heating. So, lets look into how we can save some money on our heating bills.
Put Some Clothes On
No, I promise I am not being rude. Most people put the heating on without looking at what they’re wearing. Put on layers. Just putting on a pair of slippers, jumper or some warm clothing you can hold off putting on the heating.
Use a Hot Water Bottle
This follows the same principle of putting on additional clothing. Maybe when you Marie the next cup of tea, fill the kettle a little more and fill a boot water bottle. This gathering heart will keep your body warm when you’re trying to relax at home. Again, the longer to can keep yourself warm at home the less likely you will need to put the heating on.
Use your Blinds /Curtains
This is a very simple trick to help keep your home warmer in the winter months. Your windows and doors are one of the quickest places to lose heat. Nearly 10-15% leaves or properties through doors and windows. By using blinds and curtains you require the amount of heart loss and reduce draughts through cracks!
Check your Loft Insulation
Heat rises, so nearly every time you turn on your radiator, a quarter of heat is lost through the roof in an uninsulated home. Insulating your loft, attic or flat roof is an effective way to reduce heat loss and reduce your heating bills. Installed correctly, loft insulation should pay for itself many times over in its 40-year lifetime.
