Property Trends in Dorset

House prices have been the hot topic of 2021 and there is much speculation over what 2022 prices are going to do. Despite only being one month into the year we have already had a record start to the year with one of the strongest starts since 2005.

Also an annual surge in house prices to 11.2% since January 2021 with an 8% increase in properties available.

What's happening in Dorset.

Last year we saw a huge demand for coastal and rural properties largely due Covid-19 and wanting of a different life style, helped by remote office working.

Seeing as there is still a large demand for houses we see the market remaining high throughout 2022. Prices may not be as volatile as we have seen previously.

Interest rates as also set to rise, due to the base rate increase, we may be less people inclined to take out mortgages or reassessing their financial decisions.
